Rare Chance to Taste Vin Jaune 1999 in London

From Thursday 23rd – Sunday 26th October at the Wine Show in London a little company named JuraWine will be showing a range of wines from one of my favourite Jura producers, Stéphane Tissot (catch phrase: “la vie est belle” – life is beautiful). The range will include a fine Arbois Vin Jaune 1999, that I selected as the Greatest Jura Wine in Wine Report 2008. Stéphane has done wonderful things with this estate since he took over the running of it from his parents André and Mireille Tissot whose name is on the label. He makes a huge range of excellent and innovative wines and runs the estate along biodynamic/organic lines.

Wine Travel Guides took an exhibition stand at the Wine Show last year, which was great fun and very good for market research and making contacts – not so hot for actual sales of subscriptions. This year, I’ll be promoting it more quietly: postcards with a great discount offer for subscriptions will be available on the JuraWine stand C27-1/2. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday I will be on the stand from 2pm – 3pm conducting a tutored tasting of four wines from Stéphane including the legendary Vin Jaune – if you are in London this is an excellent chance to learn something about Jura wines. It’s great that these wines are available in the UK so make the most of it.

Full details are on JuraWine’s website. If you can’t make it to the show, you can use my blog-readers discount D1BLG08 to buy your subscriptions, so you can plan your own wine tour to the wine regions of France and beyond.
